Happy Thanksgiving!
We're celebrating this Thanksgiving Day with real thanks. Our grapes are all safely in the barrels, fermenting into delicious wine. A farmer's lot, it is a worry all year about the variances of weather, pests, and weeds. When the grapes are finally harvested and taken to the winemaker (Greg Koenig) we all breathe a sigh of relief.
We're planning on celebrating with our new 2008 Pinot Gris. Just out of the barrel and not yet released (coming shortly) this crisp and cool Pinot Gris will satisfy the most finicky wine drinker in a group. The nice acid balance will cut through most of the traditionally heavy meals of Thanksgiving and is delicious to drink alone.
