Martha Cunningham is rightly credited with spearheading efforts to establish the Eagle Foothills District AVA wine appellation, the first sub-AVA of the Snake River Valley AVA. The Idaho winegrowing community remains indebted to Martha for her leadership in helping solidify Idaho's standing as a serious winegrowing region and producer of high-caliber wines.
Martha grew up in Napa and Sonoma Counties, just north of the San Francisco Bay Area. Luckily for all of us, she brought that California wine savvy and hospitality to Idaho. Martha is a graduate of University of California-Davis, which coincidentally is world-renowned for its enology (winemaking) and viticulture (grape growing) academic programs.
