The 2016 Syrah from our backdoor vineyards at 3 Horse Ranch in the Eagle Foothills AVA (Winegrowing Appellation) is perhaps the finest wine we have produced to date. 2014 was an excellent vintage for Idaho, with near perfect growing and harvesting conditions. The fruit came in fully ripe, with well developed elegant tannins. This Syrah was partially matured in New French Oak, to add to its mouthfeel, finish and cellar life. This wine is drinking spot-on now, but will continue to gain complexity for the next five to ten years! Do what we do at the Ranch: Pull the cork and put it to use! Also, Idaho Syrah really makes the meal for ANY season, with notes of pepper, allspice, currants, licorice, smoked meats and leather!
French Onion Soup - of course
"This Syrah shows balance from start to finish with a fruit-forward profile of Marionberry and elderberry. Juicy acidity easily pushes through the tannins and leads to the finish of blueberry cobbler." - Eric Degerman, Great Northwest Wine
