3 Horse Ranch Wines
This wine is a struggle to make, the vineyard site freezes most years and we tend the vines in dispair. Then, a magical year comes along and wow, we have a great wine. Long missing from our Tasting Room, we welcome the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc with real pleasure. At once both citrussy and minerally Sauvignon Blanc is many peoples favorite wine, it is certainly one of ours.
The fan favorite 3HRV red wine, 2014 Beau Geste made its grand entrance in 2017. This wine WOW’s at first taste: 51% Cabernet, 31% Malbec, 10% Petit Verdot & 8% Cabernet Franc. It’s a brooding, rich sophisticated effort with well integrated tannins. Pull the cork now or wait 10 years.
Gorgeous Right Now!
A Magnum of Malbec! It stands tall and proud at any table.
A deeply colored, rich wine with round balanced acidity, lush, supple textures and flavors of blackberry and plum.
“Oh, no thank you, I don’t drink Merlot.” Ok, indulge me, try it, and cross it off your list. A fantastic drinker and food pairing wine that definitely over-delivers its price point. Wonderfully balanced with black fruit notes of blackberries, black currants, boisenberries and plums. Complimented by French Oak for rich mouthfeel and long finish.

The first Tempranillo from the Eagle Foothills AVA, this 2016 selection is from our friends at Meadowlark Hills Vineyards. "Light and elegant"

This very-close-to-dry (off-dry) Riesling (at .5% RS, or residual sugar) exhibits a lovely bouquet of passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, and petrol tones. This Riesling is dry enough to course out with poultry, seafood or salads. However, the finish is not sharp or acerbic, as there is just a touch of sweetness to mitigate the sharp acids in a Riesling. Palate-cleansing acidity and a spicy mineral finish for days makes this an unforgettable aperitif, course pairing, or everyday wine! Thank You from @3HorseRanch ! 🤠🍷🍇
For Poultry, Seafood & Salads!
This 2014 Sangiovese is celebrated by 3HRV winery staff and our tasting room patrons alike as one of the finest wines we’ve ever produced! Because we are growing the Sangiovese varietal in the warmer climate of Eagle Foothills AVA (Winegrowing Appellation), the end result is a fuller, lush, rich and savory drinking wine, not unlike those of Brunello di Montalcino or Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. The wine was matured partially in new French oak, to add oak spices and barrel tannins, allowing for a protracted, elegant finish. Its wonderful tart cherry, black cherry and currant fruit flavors coupled with naturally high acidity makes for a perfect pairing with tomato-based sauces and dishes. The wine is framed quite nicely with fine barrel tannins and just a hint of oak spice. At only a 174-case production, this Eagle Foothills Sangiovese is not long for this world! Get it while you can! Thank You from @3HorseRanch ! 🤠🍷🍇
Few Cases Remain!
2017 Eagle Foothills Viognier 51% and Roussanne 49%. Our first bottling of this wine since 2010. Pure fruit from the Eagle Foothills, very aromatic with stone fruit notes of peaches and apricots from the Viognier, and the minerality from the solid base of Roussanne. Small Lot Series...90 cases

The 2016 Vivacious, the blending of Eagle Foothills Viognier and Roussanne creates a fresh, dry white wine! This wine is a proprietary blend of Viognier and Roussanne, which was matured in steel barrels. Viognier provides its classic stonefruit flavors of apricot and peach, while Roussanne adds notes of honey, melon and mountain herbs to the blend. The ending result is a white wine that is perfect for cocktails or with a light meal for a crowd.
