3 Horse Ranch Vineyards

Cabernet Sauvignon SRV 2012

Cabernet Sauvignon SRV 2012

Snake River Valley AVA

"The 2012 Single-Vineyard 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from our vineyards at 3 Horse Ranch is one of our finest Cab productions to date. This is a powerful, extracted, tannic, very young drinking Cabernet, which will perform well in the glass now through 2027. Bold notes of cedar, cloves, nutmeg, anise, black currants, blackberries, and plums, with hints of roasted meats and stewed fruits. A beautiful wine, Salute!" - Brandon St-Martin, Certified Sommelier

WINERY SPEC SHEET (pdf download): 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards

COMPOSITION: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, Snake River Valley. 14.2% ABV.

AGING: This wine gains complexity and pays dividends from cellaring. Drinks well 2018-2026.

VINTAGE 2012: The Snake River Valley harvest was as close to ideal as it gets. The region enjoyed a nice warm summer with perfect diurnal swings (or night time cooling off temperatures) that allowed for picture perfect ripening conditions for whites and reds. An unusually long growing season started in the early Spring and extended into late Fall. Harvest began in mid-September for whites and ran through the very end of October for red varietals.

VINEYARDS: Snake River Valley, 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards, Idaho

WINEMAKING: Greg Koenig, Consulting Winemaker. Fruit parcels from Cabernet Sauvignon varietal vineyards were vinified separately. After maceration and fermentation on skins, malolactic fermentation occurred during barrel maturation in a mix of new and old barriques - French, - for a period of 30 months. Bottled: Summer 2017.

CELLARS: Vinified, Cellared & Bottled in Koenig Winery, Caldwell Idaho (Snake River Valley)

CLOSURE: Traditional Cork

AUDIENCE: Winery Tasting Room Patrons, Wine Club Members across the USA, Fine Dining & Premier Hand-Sell Wine Shops in metropolitan Boise Idaho. This Wine is Not Distributred.
