3 Horse Ranch Vineyards

Cabernet Franc 3HR-SV 2014

Cabernet Franc 3HR-SV 2014

3 Barrels Produced! | continued=>

Where to begin? Where to end? We all just fell in love with this wine in the cellars, last February when we tasted barrel samples prior to its bottling. Just 76 cases (3 barrels!) were made of this 100% Single-Vineyard Cabernet Franc from our own backyard vineyards in the Eagle Foothills AVA . It's a bold, opulent dark inky with with silky smooth tannins from both fruit and oak barrels. All of the dark fruits are on full display, among them blackberries, black currants, blueberries, and plums. Hints of wheatgrass and bell pepper verify the tell-tale signature of a well-made Cabernet Franc. This will please audiences today, and thrill audiences in years to come, as it further integrates and matures from cellaring. Going, going, gone! Happy Holidays from @3HorseRanch ! πŸ€ πŸ·πŸπŸ‡

AWARDS + PRESS FOR 3HRV CABERNET FRANC

πŸ₯ˆ SILVER: Idaho Wine Competition

WINERY SPEC SHEET (pdf download): 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards

COMPOSITION: 100% Cabernet Franc, 3HRV-Single Vineyard. 14.2% ABV.

AGING: This wine gains complexity and pays dividends from cellaring. Drinks well 2018-2026.

VINTAGE 2014: The Eagle Foothills and surrounding Snake River Valley harvest was as close to ideal as it gets. The region enjoyed a nice warm summer with perfect diurnal swings (or night time cooling off temperatures) that allowed for picture perfect ripening conditions for whites and reds. An unusually long growing season started in the early Spring and extended into late Fall. Harvest began in mid-September for whites and ran through the very end of October for red varietals.

VINEYARDS: Single-Vineyard, 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards, Eagle Foothills AVA, Idaho

WINEMAKING: Greg Koenig, Consulting Winemaker. Fruit parcels from our Rhone varietal vineyards were vinified separately. After maceration and fermentation on skins, malolactic fermentation occurred during barrel maturation in a mix of new and old barriques - French, American and Hungarian in origin - for a period of 30 months. Bottled: Summer 2017.

CELLARS: Vinified, Cellared & Bottled in Koenig Winery, Caldwell Idaho (Snake River Valley)

CLOSURE: Traditional Cork

AUDIENCE: Winery Tasting Room Patrons, Wine Club Members across the USA, Fine Dining & Premier Hand-Sell Wine Shops in metropolitan Boise Idaho. This Wine is Not Distributred.
