The 2014 Vintage from the Snake River Valley AVA (Winegrowing Appellation) was gratefully ideal for most all of Idaho. Warm temperatures and an abundant, early crop produced picture-perfect grapes with soft tannins in the reds. Our 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon SRV is crafted from 100% Cabernet grapes from Idaho. This wine was in the cellar for almost 30 months prior to bottling. It is lush, dense and fruit-forward, with enticing oak spice, vanilla, cloves, and cedar. It has a robust body and long, satisfying finish. COMPOSITION: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3HRV-Single Vineyard. 14.2% ABV.

AGING: This wine gains complexity and pays dividends from cellaring. Drinks well 2018-2026.

VINTAGE 2014: The Eagle Foothills and surrounding Snake River Valley harvest was as close to ideal as it gets. The region enjoyed a nice warm summer with perfect diurnal swings (or night time cooling off temperatures) that allowed for picture perfect ripening conditions for whites and reds. An unusually long growing season started in the early Spring and extended into late Fall. Harvest began in mid-September for whites and ran through the very end of October for red varietals.

VINEYARDS: Single-Vineyard, 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards, Eagle Foothills AVA, Idaho

WINEMAKING: Greg Koenig, Consulting Winemaker. Fruit parcels from our Bordeaux varietal vineyards were vinified separately. After maceration and fermentation on skins, malolactic fermentation occurred during barrel maturation in a mix of new and old barriques - French, American and Hungarian in origin - for a period of 30 months. Bottled: Summer 2017.
