Syrah SRV 2014

Syrah SRV 2014

Makes Any Holiday Meal! | continued=>

THIS wine is one of our Favorite Wines for the Holidays! We harvest near-perfect fruit under near-perfect conditions for the 2014 Vintage Syrah from the Snake River Valley AVA (Winegrowing Appellation). This rich, velvety medium-bodied Syrah showcases beautiful black fruits of plums, black currants, blackberries and boysenberries, with excellent integration of acids and tannins. Notes of roasted meats, cassis, earth notes from the vineyard, and black cherry are unmissable. The white-pepper trademark of Syrah is on full display from this well-developed vineyard. It’s the Perfect pairing for Turkey, Pork, Steak, Lamb, or even Smoked Salmon! It’s a killer Idaho Red that easily overdelivers its price point. Do not miss the opportunity to serve this at your next Holiday get-together with colleagues, friends or family!  Happy Holidays from @3HorseRanch ! 🤠🍷🍁🍇

“Quite dark and smoky, this fruity Syrah combines blueberry, blackberry and cassis flavors in a deep mix. Earthy tannins are well-managed and provide a proper underpinning." - Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast

WINERY SPEC SHEET (pdf download): 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards

COMPOSITION: 100% Syrah. 14.3% ABV.

AGING: This wine gains complexity and pays dividends from cellaring. Drinks well 2017-2020.

VINTAGE 2014: The Snake River Valley harvest was as close to ideal as it gets. The region enjoyed a nice warm summer with perfect diurnal swings (or night time cooling off temperatures) that allowed for picture perfect ripening conditions for whites and reds. An unusually long growing season started in the early Spring and extended into late Fall. Harvest began in mid-September for whites and ran through the very end of October for red varietals.

VINEYARDS: Snake River Valley Idaho

WINEMAKING: Greg Koenig, Consulting Winemaker. Fruit parcels from our Rhone varietal vineyards were vinified separately. After maceration and fermentation on skins, malolactic fermentation occurred during barrel maturation in a mix of new and old barriques - French, American and Hungarian in origin - for a period of 20 months. Bottled: Summer 2016.

CELLARS: Vinted, Cellared and Bottled in Koenig Winery, Caldwell Idaho (Snake River Valley)

CLOSURE: Traditional Cork

MARKETS: Winery Tasting Room. Wine Club Members across the USA. Fine Dining + Premier Retail Distribution to Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Alaska and Wyoming.
