COMPOSITION: 100% Roussanne. 12.9% ABV.

AGING: Drinks well now through 20198

VINTAGE 2014: Warm temperatures and an abundant, early crop produced picture-perfect grapes with soft tannins in the reds. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot had vintners most excited. With no rain, no early freezes and a harvest that was mostly done by Halloween (about two weeks ahead of usual), Washington vintners were all smiles. With no heat spikes and cool nighttime temperatures, the acidity balances in these young wines was ideal. Even though it was a warm harvest, generally the whites were of superb quality, while the reds garnered elegant tannins.

VINEYARDS: Columbia Valley, Washington

WINEMAKING: Greg Koenig, Consulting Winemaker. Fruit parcels from our Rhone varietal vineyards were vinified separately. After free-run, light skin contact, and fermentation in tank, partial malolactic fermentation occurred during barrel maturation in a mix of new and old barriques - French, American and Hungarian oak in origin - for a period of 12 months. The wine experienced a light filtration, fining, and cold stabilization prior to bottling. Bottled: October 2015.
