Vivacious Viognier White 2014

Vivacious Viognier White 2014

A Dry Viognier/Roussanne! | continued=>

Ladies And Gentlemen, Start Your Ovens! 3HRV has your next dinner covered with THE most popular white wine we’ve ever produced: The 2014 Vivacious Viognier/Roussanne dry white wine! This wine is 3/4 Viognier, which was matured in steel barrels. Viognier exudes lovely floral tones of lilacs and violets, complimented on the palate by crisp acidity. 1/4 of this blend is Roussanne, which was fermented and matured in Oak, lending nuanced oakspice and a touch of creamy/buttery notes to Roussanne’s natural fruit profile of honeysuckle and honeydew melon. The ending result is a blended white wine that pleases every crowd and pairs with every dish, especially poultry, pasta, seafood and cheeses! Thank You from @3HorseRanch ! 🤠🍷🍇

"This wine's peach, melon and flowers aromas are bright. The palate is dry and fleshy." - Sean Sullivan, Wine Enthusiast

WINERY SPEC SHEET (pdf download): 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards

COMPOSITION: 76% Viognier and 24% Roussanne. 13.8% ABV.

AGING: Drinks well now through 2018.

VINTAGE 2014: Warm temperatures and an abundant, early crop produced picture-perfect grapes with soft tannins in the reds. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot had vintners most excited. With no rain, no early freezes and a harvest that was mostly done by Halloween (about two weeks ahead of usual), Washington vintners were all smiles. With no heat spikes and cool nighttime temperatures, the acidity balances in these young wines was ideal. Even though it was a warm harvest, generally the whites were of superb quality, while the reds garnered elegant tannins.

VINEYARDS: Columbia Valley, Washington

WINEMAKING: Greg Koenig, Consulting Winemaker. Fruit parcels from our Rhone varietal vineyards were vinified separately. After free-run, light skin contact, and fermentation in tank, partial malolactic fermentation occurred during barrel maturation in a mix of steel as well as new and old barriques - French, American and Hungarian oak in origin - for a period of 9 months.  The wine experienced a light filtration, fining, and cold stabilization prior to bottling. Bottled: June 2015.

CELLARS: Vinted, Cellared and Bottled in Koenig Winery, Caldwell Idaho (Snake River Valley)

CLOSURE: Traditional Cork

MARKETS: Winery Tasting Room. Wine Club Members across the USA. Fine Dining + Premier Retail Distribution to Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Alaska and Wyoming.
